The knowing

there in the dark

it kept growing

The hiding

a habit too hard to break

realities colliding

The pretending

an exhausting way to disappear

no-one for mending

The fearing

became a regular way to breathe

no sign of clearing

The beauty

lost and twisted by many

was inside plenty

The courage

there then here now

won’t be discouraged

The care

craved for sacrificed too much for

now I’m aware

The peace

there all along a breath away

only to increase
